We are committed to advancing interdisciplinary understanding of oral function, feeding, and myofunctional therapy.
Our professional education programs are designed to deepen clinical reasoning — not simply provide protocols. By strengthening the “why” behind assessment and treatment decisions, we support more precise, collaborative, and sustainable patient outcomes.
Through structured, evidence-informed training, we equip clinicians to approach care with greater clarity, confidence, and integration across disciplines.
Designed for speech-language pathologists, lactation professionals, dentists, manual therapists, body workers, and interdisciplinary providers
Clinical Philosophy
Our education emphasizes:
• Functional diagnosis over symptom treatment
• Evidence-informed practice
• Interdisciplinary collaboration
• Long-term stability and prevention
• Ethical, scope-aware care
We focus on building skill, confidence, and clinical reasoning — not just protocols.
Clinic-Based Education & Lunch & Learns
We believe advanced care requires advanced collaboration. Our mentorship and clinic education programs are designed to elevate interdisciplinary practice and strengthen patient outcomes across the lifespan.
Strong outcomes are built on shared understanding.
Our clinic education sessions provide structured, practical guidance on oral rest posture, feeding, and myofunctional therapy — helping teams align language, assessment approaches, and collaborative care strategies.
We offer customized educational sessions for: Dental practices, Orthodontic clinic, Pediatric medical offices, Allied health teams, Multidisciplinary clinics
Topics may include:
-
Dental Chairside Screening for Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders
-

Orofacial Rest Posture Program (ORPP) Canada
Advanced Clinical Education in Oral Rest Posture
& Functional Foundations
Karrie Page, founder of Tip of the Tongue, is the co-developer of the Orofacial Rest Posture Program (ORPP) Canada — a structured, evidence-informed framework for integrating oral rest posture into clinical practice.
Since 2008, she has provided advanced training and mentorship to clinicians internationally, supporting the integration of myofunctional principles within speech-language pathology, lactation, dental, and interdisciplinary care settings.
Karrie teaches in collaboration with Nicole Dickson, Registered Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Orofacial Myologist in Calgary, Alberta. Together, they have educated and mentored hundreds of clinicians worldwide, strengthening clinical reasoning, interdisciplinary alignment, and long-term stability in oral function care.
The ORPP Framework
ORPP is designed to deepen clinical understanding of oral rest posture and its relationship to feeding, airway development, speech clarity, and orthodontic stability.
The program provides practical, structured tools grounded in:
• Functional assessment
• Neuroplasticity-informed habit retraining
• Behavioral integration principles
• Interdisciplinary collaboration
Our training format emphasizes clarity, application, and measurable outcomes within everyday clinical practice.
Programs are intentionally delivered in small cohorts to allow meaningful discussion, case integration, and individualized mentorship.
What Distinguishes ORPP
Clinicians Teaching from Clinical Practice
Instruction is grounded in active, real-world care — translating directly into practical application.
Functional & Interdisciplinary Perspective
Oral rest posture is addressed within the broader context of breathing, sleep quality, feeding mechanics, speech production, and orthodontic development.
Emphasis on Sustainable Outcomes
The focus is on structured assessment, habit integration, and long-term functional stability — not isolated symptom correction.
Small Cohort Learning Environment
Limited enrollment supports deeper engagement, case-based discussion, and individualized feedback.
Who is this Education Designed For
• Speech-Language Pathologists
• Lactation Consultants
• Dental & Orthodontic Professionals
• Myofunctional Therapists
• Allied Health Providers integrating oral function into practice
Course Offerings
Course Title: ORPP Introduction and Screening: Identifying Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders
Course Description:
This course provides an introduction to the connection between orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs), oral resting posture, and speech articulation outcomes. Proper oral rest posture is a critical, yet often overlooked, factor influencing both articulation therapy success and optimal orofacial growth.
Participants will learn strategies to identify and screen for OMDs in neurotypical children, understand their impact on speech sound production and craniofacial development, and determine appropriate early interventions, including education, referral recommendations, and preliminary treatment approaches.
Target Audience:
-
School-based and preschool-based Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs)
-
Dental Hygienists
-
Other allied health professionals interested in pediatric speech and oral development
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
-
Define orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs) and describe their relevance to speech articulation.
-
Recognize the potential impact of dentition and oral structures on articulation development.
-
Screen and identify neurotypical children presenting with OMDs.
-
Explain how poor oral resting posture affects prognosis in speech articulation therapy.
-
Determine appropriate early interventions, including patient/family education, referral recommendations, and preliminary treatment strategies, to optimize speech articulation outcomes and orofacial growth.
Course Format:
-
Lecture and demonstration with case examples
-
Screening and practical application strategies
Course Length: 6 hours
Course Date: TBA (Fall 2026)

Course Title: ORPP Fast & Functional: A Chairside Checklist for Recognizing Myofunctional Red Flags Impacting Oral Function, Dental Growth, and Orthodontic Success
Course Description:
This course equips dental professionals with practical tools to identify orofacial myofunctional red flags during routine chairside care. Participants will learn to recognize improper oral resting posture and understand its connections to speech, breathing, sleep, and orofacial growth concerns. Emphasis is placed on early recognition, effective screening techniques using the ORPP chairside checklist, and patient-friendly communication strategies to integrate assessments into daily dental practice. Early detection allows dental teams to support better long-term patient outcomes through timely referrals and education.
Target Audience:
-
Dentists
-
Dental Hygienists
-
Dental Assistants
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
-
Describe orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs) and their relevance to oral function and growth.
-
Recognize red flags associated with improper oral resting posture and understand their potential impact on speech, breathing, sleep, and craniofacial development.
-
Conduct effective chairside screenings for OMDs using the ORPP chairside checklist.
Course Format:
-
