OUR MISSION

Tip of the Tongue is an Alberta-based clinic providing myofunctional therapy, speech therapy, and support for infant feeding concerns, including breast and bottle feeding, for infants through adults.

We help families improve feeding, breathing, sleep, and speech through personalized, evidence-informed care — addressing concerns such as tongue and lip tie, TMJ discomfort, mouth breathing, orthodontic stability, and sleep-related challenges.

Our work is grounded in function: when the tongue, jaw, airway, and speech systems work well together, long-term growth, comfort, and clarity follow.

Our Team

At Tip of the Tongue, our clinicians work collaboratively to support families from infancy through adulthood. Many families begin their journey with lactation and infant feeding support and continue with speech or myofunctional therapy as their needs evolve, allowing our team to provide thoughtful, coordinated care at every stage.

Founder, Tip of the Tongue

Karrie is passionate about helping families navigate feeding, speech, and oral function with confidence and clarity. Guided by her father’s advice to “do what you love,” she has built a career dedicated to supporting babies, children, and families through challenges that can impact feeding, communication, sleep, and overall well-being.

Karrie completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Lethbridge in 2000 and her Master of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Alberta in 2002. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM) with extensive training in infant feeding, tethered oral tissues, and oral function.

Through her clinical work, teaching, and speaking engagements, Karrie is committed to advancing collaborative care and improving how oral function and infant feeding are understood across healthcare disciplines. She has lectured at provincial, national, and international conferences including the Pacific Dental Conference, the American Laser Study Club (Toronto, Vancouver, and Las Vegas), and the Breathe and Thrive Symposium in San Diego. Karrie is also the co-creator and instructor of the Orofacial Rest Posture Program (ORPP), which she teaches to speech-language pathologists and dental professionals internationally.

Born and raised in Drumheller, Alberta, Karrie now resides in Central Alberta with her husband Dustin and is the proud mom of two sons, Noah and Isaac. Her own experiences with childhood speech challenges, Bell’s Palsy, and breastfeeding difficulties helped shape her passion for supporting families.

Karrie founded Tip of the Tongue to provide thoughtful, collaborative care that supports families from infancy through adulthood. She believes strongly in partnering with families and other professionals and continues to evolve her practice through ongoing education, mentorship, and clinical collaboration.

Infant Feeding & Lactation Support

Sarah supports families as they begin their infant feeding journey, helping parents feel informed, confident, and supported during the early weeks with a new baby. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Calgary and brings both professional training and lived experience as a mother of four to her work.
