Tongue Tie: Connecting the Dots - Understanding the Role of the Tongue in Feeding, Speech, Sleep & Dental Development
There is increasing conversation around tongue tie — but not always clarity.
This educational session is designed to provide a structured, evidence-informed overview of how tongue mobility and oral rest posture influence feeding, speech development, airway stability, and orthodontic outcomes from infancy through adulthood.
We will explore:
• What tongue tie (ankyloglossia) is — and what it is not
• How reduced tongue range of motion may impact breastfeeding and bottle feeding
• The relationship between tongue posture, speech clarity, and swallow patterns
• The role of oral rest posture in sleep quality and airway development
• How tongue function can influence dental growth and orthodontic stability
• The importance of functional assessment — not just structural identification
• Why preparation and post-release support matter for long-term outcomes
This session is designed to replace confusion with clarity — helping families understand when intervention is appropriate and how collaborative care supports optimal results.

Latch Lessons Prenatal Breastfeeding
Education for a Confident Start
Breastfeeding is a natural process — but it is also a learned skill for both parent and baby.
Many of the most common feeding challenges can be anticipated and addressed before your baby arrives. This prenatal breastfeeding education session is designed to provide practical knowledge and realistic expectations so you feel prepared and supported from the start.
We will review:
• What to expect in the early days of feeding
• How milk production is established and regulated
• Breast anatomy and latch mechanics
• Positioning for comfort and efficiency
• Signs of effective milk transfer
• Early red flags that may require additional support
• The role of tongue mobility and oral function in feeding success
Our goal is to provide clear, evidence-informed guidance so families can recognize what is typical, identify concerns early, and know when to seek support.
This session may be attended at any point during pregnancy.
If group dates do not align with your schedule, individual prenatal breastfeeding consultations are available upon request.
