"Do what you Love"
Karrie is a fiercely passionate speech pathologist. Growing up her dad always told her "do what you love." Karrie is lucky enough to be able to say she truly loves her job! Karrie graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2000 with her undergraduate degree and from the Masters of Speech Language Pathology program at the University of Alberta in 2002. Karrie values ongoing education and has obtained post graduate education to become a Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM) and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Karrie also has a special interest in tethered oral tissues and has completed extensive training in this area. Karrie co-developed and teaches the Orofacial Rest Posture Program (ORPP) to speech language pathologists and dental professionals across Canada.
Karrie was born and raised in small town Drumheller. She married her high school sweetheart and is beyond proud to be a mom of two amazing sons who remind her each day how wildly different but strangely similar they both are. Karrie had difficulty saying her "R" sound when she was a child and also experienced Bell's Palsy (a facial palsy) at the age of 13. Finally, with the birth of her first son, Karrie experienced the challenges of breastfeeding and the world of pediatric feeding and swallowing enlightened her. All of these experiences paved the path to Tip of the Tongue.
These personal challenges combined with almost 20 years of clinical experience have opened her heart and her mind to the potential she has of making a difference in someone's life. These experiences have taught Karrie how to help, support and guide families through therapy with a kind heart, empathy and the knowledge that persistence in therapy will pay off.
As a speech pathologist Karrie is here to educate and empower you- you know your child best. Karrie has one goal- to help babies, children and families thrive. Karrie believes the best way she can ensure exceptional service is to continue to learn and to change her practice based on ongoing education- both through professional development and learning from clinical experiences.
Karrie looks forward to having the pleasure of working with you and/or your child.

Sarah Roadhouse
Virtual Practice Manager & Lactation Counsellor
Sarah is a lifelong learner whose curiosity about the world around her has led her on many adventurous paths. Following her passion to understand people and culture Sarah completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology/Psychology from the University of Calgary. Upon graduating Sarah decided to apply all she had learned to the art of parenthood and spent many wonderful years raising her 4 children. During those years her love of learning only increased which led her to pursue education in several fields including contemplative living, Montessori education and finally led her to completing her Certified Lactation Counsellor Training from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice in 2017. Following completion of her course Sarah trained and volunteered with Le Leche League for 4 years, supporting parents in navigating the journey of breastfeeding.
Sarah connected with Karrie several years ago over their mutual passion for quality lactation care for families. They dreamed of working together and in Fall 2022 that dream became a reality as Sarah joined the Tip of the Tongue team. Sarah is lucky to wear two different hats at our clinic.
She finds great joy in being our Virtual Practice Manager, helping our Tip of the Tongue families feel welcomed, supported and connected every step of the way. She also has the privilege of being a part of our lactation clinic team which strives to educate, empower and support families through their prenatal and postpartum breastfeeding/infant feeding journey. Using evidence based education and a compassionate counselling style, Sarah helps families feel well-prepared to have a positive breastfeeding experience. She also offers families skilled and knowledgeable support to address breastfeeding/infant feeding challenges they might encounter during those early postpartum weeks. It is Sarah’s great joy to offer a skilled and compassionate presence to others.
Sarah shares life with her husband and 4 kids. They live at a Summer Camp/Retreat Centre on Gull Lake which means they place a high value on fun and take every opportunity to adventure. Sarah is a dedicated book worm, aspiring adventurer and celebrator of things big and small.
